My Story
From an early age I knew what made me happy in life — being close to nature, feeling a sense of freedom, independence, a stillness within myself. I felt a true purpose in my alignment towards living a healthy life and inspiring others to do so as well.
As I got older, the pressures of societal norms and of what I “should” do crept in. Instead of playing in nature, being alone with myself or spending quality time with close friends, I worked 50+ hours a week, I spent my time in bars, drinking too much, abusing my body, prioritizing material things and the aesthetics of what I looked like instead of how I felt. I shut off the connections that once brought me so much joy.
Slowly, health issues started showing up. I began a constant search for answers related to my ever growing list of symptoms- body pain, anxiety, gut issues, lack of sex drive, fatigue, food allergies, and general feelings that things weren’t right in my body.
For years I traveled around the country to see the top ranked Doctors but left disappointed and without answers. Despite what was written in their biographies, no one took the time to really go over my past lab tests, symptoms, to get to know me, or to find the root cause of my issues. There was a standard protocol. “Well you don’t look sick,” I heard countless times. Many “patient focused” practitioners dismissed my feelings and the information I was giving them. Then, despite my best judgement, I would follow their protocols, only to experience adverse reactions and no way to communicate with the Doctor except by scheduling another physical appointment.
Eventually my worsening symptoms and constant survival state made it impossible to focus my attention anywhere else but my health. The pain became so unbearable, I was forced to listen.
If these “experts” couldn’t solve my issues, I was going to.
I made the decision to go back to school and take my health into my own hands. I studied Integrative Medicine through the College of Integrative Medicine’s Post-Graduate Certified Health Care Practitioner Program; focusing on clinical nutrition, genomics, integrative approaches to hormone balancing & gut health, and on how to find the root cause of many different diseases and disorders. I learned how to treat my clients as completely unique individuals, with the understanding that no two conditions or people are the same.
Once I figured out my own issues, I regained the energy to make the shifts my body had been demanding me to make. I was able to prioritize the things that gave me vitality and brought joy.
I started to help my family with their health issues, then their friends. Word kept spreading. I helped others get to the bottom of health issues that had become something they just learned to accept as part of their life.
Before I knew it, I was living out a purpose I had tried so hard to find — helping others heal their complex health issues.
In 2017 I created proprietary genetic analysis software utilized for individualized treatment and prevention planning and launched OptiGenetix. Through OptiGenetix I designed health optimization plans based on the results of functional medicine testing and genetic analysis, looking at a body’s ability to absorb and process different nutrients, detox, methylate, and metabolize estrogen. Using OptiGenetix’ tools as a backbone for genetic analysis, I formed Tailored Wellth, the concierge arm of OptiGenetix, as a way to give each client even more personalized and ongoing care.
Now, my purpose is to work side by side with you to help YOU get to the root of YOUR health issues. To spread the word that there is a different way- that technology has evolved to a point where we can understand exactly what is going on in your body; we no longer have to guess. That the answer is to treat the person and not the condition…and to find the underlying imbalances BEFORE the onset of disease.
I believe we are all here to uplift others. I look forward to helping you restore your vitality so that you too can live out your purpose with joy and uplift others.
In Health,
